Free Water Testing

Free Water Testing
Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Carson Valley, Truckee, Fernley, Fallon & Dayton

Truckee Meadows Water provides free water testing in the Reno / Sparks / Carson City / Lake Tahoe area for water contaminants, including arsenic water contamination and well water testing.

As you may be aware, many of the wells in the Reno / Tahoe area are contaminated with naturally occurring arsenic. You cannot taste arsenic in your water, but you do not want to have life-long exposure to arsenic in water as is common in the Reno / Tahoe basin.

Your first step is to ask us for a no obligation, free water testing service. You’ll then know your status, and we can discuss appropriate options. Contact us today for a free water testing including free arsenic testing of your water!

If your water source is provided by a municipality, your water is regularly tested and monitored, and it must meet the EPA standards for primary water contaminants or notify you that your water exceeds a certain constituent.

If your water source is a private well for a private home, there are no present EPA regulations protecting you from high levels of contaminants such as arsenic, nitrates and fluoride.  You may also have concerns about hardness, odor, iron, manganese and sediment.  The rural areas of Northern Nevada like Red Rock, Palomino Valley, Fernley, Fallon, the Virginia City Highlands, Washoe Valley and Carson Valley are notorious for high levels of calcium, iron and arsenic.

At Truckee Meadows Water Systems, we offer free water testing.  We will test your water at no charge for iron, total dissolved solids, pH, arsenic, hardness, flow rates and pressure.

In most cases, we can usually recommend a water conditioning system based on those tests that will effectively treat your water.  In other instances and in order to determine the proper treatment system for reduction/removal of your impurities, we may recommend a complete water analysis from a state-certified laboratory.  Certified labs usually charge between $100.00 and $300.00 for a routine domestic water analysis.  If such an analysis is recommended, we can help facilitate the process for you.
